Freezes, and wont let you select multiple downloads and then let the program run in the background..... Which is a serious pain when downloading more than one months subscriptions. Both car and driver and road and track support this function! Although this wouldnt be an issue if iTunes supported newsstand content and syncing......

really...this update has removed all additional content that was in the prior release. This is nothing more now than a scanned magazine. Embarrassing . trend..think not
I have 5 monthly subscriptions to various car magazine apps through iTunes. To those who have subscribed to Motor Trend Magazine and Automobile Magazine, you may have noticed that your magazines are no longer interactive but simply scanned copies of the monthly paper editions. This began with the June issues of both publications. I have contacted the publisher to voice my dissatisfaction with the changes. Besides, I didn’t subscribe to a scanned-copy-of-a-magazine, I subscribed to a fully interactive app, that is no longer fully interactive….except for the pinching and zooming that you constantly need to do just to be able to read it. I was advised by a customer service agent (who will remain nameless) that the interactive editions would be returning as of the July issues for each title mentioned above and that if I wanted to cancel my subscriptions, I would need to provide them with the order number of both subscriptions (which I did). Well, July issues become available and to my dissatisfaction, and to yours too…they have not returned to their previous interactive formats. So, off I send another e-mail to the same customer service agent whom I dealt with not 2 weeks ago, expressing my frustration with the situation. I was then advised that, “…I was just informed that due to the updates it may take a couple of issues before they are restore the interactive content.” (I did not correct what was written) I was also told that if I wanted to cancel my subscriptions that I would have to deal directly with iTunes! What a waste of time!!! Shame on you Source Interlink Media LLC for your bad customer service and the “trash” you pass off as an interactive app!
What a shame... used to be such a nice interactive magazine, now its simply just some cheaps scanned images from the magazine... Will unsubscribe for sure..
Supposedly works on iOS but requires flash10 - not available for iOS. Purchased on PC. Weak ecosystem.
I purchased through the iTunes Store from my iPad and I love all the added content that you dont get in the magazine. I like the links at the bottom, the access to YouTube TV channel is a great feature. Just bought it last night and all good so far. Im still going to check out the rest of the links but so far so good. I can see, and have access to all the testing videos posted without having to look for a computer to watch the video. The pages are much brighter than the magazine and I dont have to lug around a paper copy. This is simply awesome. Love it. And I save a lot money compared to news stand pricing. Great in my mind.
Ive been a long-time subscriber to both the print and digital versions of Motor Trend. In May 2014, the iPad version of the magazine stopped becoming interactive. Its basically a scanned version of the print magazine. It used to be chock-full of built-in videos, tables, stats and was so easy to navigate. Now its nearly impossible to read as it is full of ads and looks like garbage. I emailed the app developer with no response. I will NOT be renewing. Love the content, hate the app.
This app is terrible. It used to be great when it was interactive, now its just screenshots of the magazine. I havent been able to log in for weeks, Ive tried resetting my password and email, no luck. No answers to my emails to the company for help either!
I havent been able to download any of my issues for over 2 weeks now. Theyve lost me as a subscriber.
Really great app, and really good viewing experience as well! Really easy to restore previous purchases and subscriptions.
The app is not the worst, but for a magazine reader, motor trend should learn how to make it easy to read. Also, the app design brings me back to 4-5 years ago.
Subscribed only to find that there were some pages showing and some not. What makes matters worse, its a royal pain in the @&¥! to try to find someone to report this problem to. The magazine people palmed me off to iTunes and where the heck do I look in iTunes to get this problem fixed? There should be a button, like safari has, that reports bugs! Why isnt there?
It took me about 12 seconds once I downloaded this app to realize that I dont want it anymore. Now I have to go figure out how to turn off my subscription. Publishers have to realize that the National Geographic app is the gold standard, and any serious Magazine app has to provide equal or better features than NG. I would gladly pay $20/yr for a MT iPad magazine that was more than simply the hardcopy magazine scanned in and showing on my screen. Its pathetic and frustrating. My hardcopy subscription to Motor Trend has lapsed, thats why I was at the App Store and find out if they had a suitable electronic replacement. They dont. So I guess, motor trend wont be getting any of my money until they figure out how to "wow" their audience with a digital product. Oh, and one more thing- going to the App Store and finding three distinct motor trend apps was another very confusing experience. There should be one app for motor trend, not three. Roll all content into a kick-butt single app.
Why after all these years in digital form, that when you read the magazine in landscape orientation, does it have a divider on the page as if it was a paper magazine spine? Also pics used to be interactive, you could click and zoom, now no longer.
Just installed app and already theyre asking for a review. Liking it so far.
