This app does work, and viewing the magazine on the iPad is great with all the extras like the videos.
I do agree with the others that it was a bit tricky to sign in with your existing subscription, but it can be done.
Overall I like the interactive interface and makes great use of the retina display. This is so much better that the R&T app for which I have since cancelled my subscription.
The negative I do have is that it can be viewed in landscape orientation only. Perhaps its something you get used to but I like the option of viewing in landscape or portrait..... and, if I could only pick one, I would prefer portrait for reading magazines.
Ive been reading MT since I was eight years old, and I love this iPad edition. Though version 1.x was quite buggy, version 2.0 is excellent. Much better user interface, and much snappier in speed. Thanks Motor Trend!

I purchased through the iTunes Store from my iPad and I love all the added content that you dont get in the magazine. I like the links at the bottom, the access to YouTube TV channel is a great feature. Just bought it last night and all good so far. Im still going to check out the rest of the links but so far so good. I can see, and have access to all the testing videos posted without having to look for a computer to watch the video. The pages are much brighter than the magazine and I dont have to lug around a paper copy. This is simply awesome. Love it. And I save a lot money compared to news stand pricing. Great in my mind.
Some bad moments

They just want to sell you their old issues, and other Crap!
Ive spent about 20 minutes just trying to login my current subscription to see the mag on my iPad. Horrible interface has prevented me in doing so.
Tried in vain for it to accept my account number or alternately my mailing address to validate my eligibility to no avail.Mickey Mouse.Deleted the Ap.
.. as Im assuming i havent yet seen a real issue. When your free preview issue is in fact a buggy, difficult to navigate promo brochure for Jaguar and not an issue at all you can count me out. I was hoping to sample some journalism, not ad copy.

Terrible app. Lost my account information after a "upgrade" and now unable to read any of my previously downloaded editions. Dont waste your money. Guess they should call it downgrades.
